Works we performed in this department between 1987 and 2019 are briefly reviewed.  Main line of work in my group was sampling and analysis of aerosols and rainwater in rural locations around Turkey.  The objective was to understand sources and source regions affecting air quality in Turkey, particularly in rural areas.  Twenty-two thesis was completed in these areas.  We came a long way towards that objective.  Results will be briefly discussed in this presentation.  Rural measurements were supplemented by modelling studies and similar studies conducted in urban atmosphere.   Works on VOCs in urban atmosphere and recently dust transport from Africa and Arabic peninsula and how those dust particles are modified during transport will also be discussed in presentation.
