Water scarcity problem is not only a big issue for Turkey but also for many countries in the world. One of the solutions for this problem is wastewater reclamation and reuse. There may be several biological wastewater treatment sequences including primary, secondary and tertiary treatment alternatives for specific water reuse applications. However, each sequence of treatment related reuse might not be applicable or economically feasible. The purpose of this study is to investigate different biological treatment sequences of wastewater to achieve the optimum effluent characteristics with cost efficient approach, for a given water reuse application. For this purpose, different wastewater treatment sequences will be modelled using Biowin for different wastewater characteristics and flowrates. Cost estimation will be done according to the selected sequences. It will be done for 30 years basis that includes operational and capital costs. At the end of the cost estimation, unit price of reclaimed water will be found according to selected water reuse application. It is believed that the results of this study might be significant for pointing out the applicable and economical selection of wastewater treatment sequence for a specific water reuse application.
