The Department of Environmental Engineering at Middle East Technical University invites applications for faculty positions in Environmental Engineering. The applicant must have a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment. The Department seeks outstanding candidates in broadly defined areas of Environmental Engineering whose research contributes to advancing sustainable environmental engineering solutions while complementing and strengthening the Department’s strategic research directions and teaching capabilities. The Department places particular emphasis on the following areas. Outstanding candidates from other areas of Environmental Engineering are also encouraged to apply.
i. Teaching experience and capability of maintaining a research program on the topics given below
- Air Quality and Air Pollution Control,
- Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation,
- Carbon Management and Circular Economy,
- Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for Environmental Systems,
- Environmental Systems Modeling and Digital Twins,
- Environmental Informatics,
- Environmental Risk and Resilience,
- Emerging Contaminants and Environmental Health,
- Smart Water and Wastewater Systems,
- Environmental Monitoring and Sensing Technologies,
- Renewable energy
ii. Evidence of involvement in high-quality environmental engineering design projects, with relevant industry/professional experience, and experience in teaching environmental engineering design.
Candidates are expected to teach and develop graduate and undergraduate courses, supervise master and doctoral students, acquire research programs related to the mission of the Department, develop externally funded research projects and establish full commitment for outreach activities and professional service.
